Disclaimer: The following article is an opinion piece that draws upon a recent conversation between Tucker Carlson and attorney Bob Amsterdam, as well as various public allegations circulating in media and political discourse. Some claims herein are disputed or unverified, and readers are encouraged to conduct their own research.
Throughout modern history, Americans have taken pride in championing religious liberty, free expression, and democratic values across the globe. Yet, in the case of Ukraine, under President Volodymyr Zelensky, many observers argue that these principles are being systematically eroded. Equally concerning is the near-total silence from mainstream Western media and political elites regarding Ukraine’s alleged persecution of Christians—specifically, members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), the largest Christian denomination in the country. Whether this media silence is because rogue members of the CIA have complete control over the major media outlets remains to be seen but it is sure starting to look that way.
What is really sad is most Americans do not know how to do research and remember how the war started and who actually started the Ukraine war. NEWS FLASH: People, The CIA and the MIC via Victoria Nuland started this war back in 2014 when they organized a COUP in Ukraine, aimed at violating our agreement with Putin where we promised not to advance NATO any further eastward. They did this because they knew it would eventually force Putin to invade due to proximity stress just as we would if China moved into Mexico or Canada. It's that simple and they eventually recruited Zelensky as their little actor president. All in a plot to generate profits from weapons manufacturing and steal Ukraine's resources and minerals.
President Donald Trump has recently described Zelensky as a “dictator,” and for good reason. Evidence suggests that Zelensky’s administration has operated in a manner more akin to an authoritarian regime than a democratic government, complete with suppression of dissent, closure of media outlets, and a heavy-handed secret police. If the details emerging from Ukraine are even partly accurate, then it is well past time for the United States—including influential leaders like President Trump—to intervene politically, diplomatically, and through public condemnation to halt these abuses. Doing so is not only a moral obligation but also a reassertion of America’s long tradition of defending religious freedom.
Below, we will outline the main allegations of corruption and persecution, why they point to a “reign of terror,” and the possibility that Zelensky’s hold over U.S. policy (especially under President Joe Biden) may be fueled by political leverage or even blackmail, potentially tied to the infamous Burisma dealings. We will also discuss how some call the Ukraine war itself a massive money-laundering operation, orchestrated by deep-state operators dating back to 2014—particularly highlighting the involvement of figures like Victoria Nuland. Finally, we will explain why President Trump’s vocal skepticism toward Zelensky might be the first step toward ending these alleged atrocities and restoring the rights of Christians in Ukraine.
1. The Persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church
In an in-depth conversation with @TuckerCarlson, attorney Bob Amsterdam provided disturbing testimony about the Zelensky administration’s persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). According to Amsterdam, parishioners and priests have been:
Beaten and harassed by Ukrainian secret police (the SBU) and ultra-nationalist gangs.
Stripped of their church buildings—with at least 1,500 churches reportedly confiscated by pro-government forces or transferred to a state-favored church.
Jailed on dubious charges related to so-called “psycho-linguistic” offenses, allegedly criminalizing speech that the government deems “too close to Russian narratives.”
Targeted by a proposed law (Law 3894) which would effectively ban the UOC outright, an act that critics compare to the ugliest episodes of religious repression in European history.
These claims of brutality contradict the narrative often presented to Western audiences that President Zelensky is simply leading a struggle for freedom. While it is true that Ukraine is at war with Russia following Russia’s invasion in 2022, critics of Zelensky maintain that no legitimate national security concerns can justify silencing political opponents, outlawing a religion adhered to by millions, or brutalizing priests and worshippers. If left unchecked, this path could lead to full-blown religious cleansing—an alarming possibility that mainstream outlets have largely declined to address.
2. Corruption and the Role of the Secret Police
A second major theme in the Carlson-Amsterdam conversation is the extent of state-level corruption. President Zelensky swept into office promising reform and modernization. However, many of the same problems that have historically dogged Ukraine—rampant corruption, oligarchic cronyism, and intimidation by secret police—seem to have persisted or even worsened.
Bob Amsterdam recounts episodes where wealthy Ukrainian business figures—especially those who support the Ukrainian Orthodox Church—have had their businesses forcibly taken, only for the state to shutter those same businesses, even damaging Ukraine’s own economy. He describes how officials like Andriy Yermak (Zelensky’s right-hand man) allegedly direct the SBU to carry out arrests, property seizures, and intimidation campaigns. Despite numerous reports of these abuses, the Western press and political establishment rarely mention them.
Even Zelensky’s rising unpopularity at home has supposedly fueled his reliance on the SBU and ultra-nationalist militias to press-gang young men into military service. In any other context, these tactics would spark global outrage. Yet with the near-unquestioning support from key Western leaders, Zelensky’s administration continues unabated.
3. The Biden Connection: Is Blackmail in Play?
One of the most provocative ideas raised is whether President Joe Biden’s administration has been effectively “writing blank checks” to Ukraine due to potential blackmail. The conversation references the well-known Burisma scandal, in which Hunter Biden served on the board of a major Ukrainian energy company, raising concerns of influence-peddling. Critics suggest that revelations from Burisma’s dealings could implicate the Biden family in ways the current White House would rather keep hidden.
This speculation centers on the notion that Zelensky might have used or threatened to use sensitive information from the Burisma archives—or from Ukrainian intelligence—to push the Biden administration toward unprecedented levels of military and financial support. Certainly, no conclusive evidence has publicly emerged to confirm these specific allegations. However, the possibility remains tantalizing to many observers who cannot otherwise explain the seemingly bottomless U.S. treasury that has been opened to Ukraine, even as inflation and other domestic crises loom large at home.
President Trump, unafraid of controversy, has hinted at this dynamic, questioning why Biden’s support for Zelensky appears so unconditional and unquestioned. Trump’s stance has been one of skepticism toward unlimited foreign aid, particularly when the recipient government stands accused of widespread repression and corruption. These calls for accountability are precisely what many Americans expect of their leaders—an expectation that might well be validated if it turns out Ukraine’s leadership has leveraged hidden threats to maintain a steady flow of U.S. tax dollars.
4. The War as a Money-Laundering Operation
Another prominent talking point is the assertion that the Ukrainian conflict doubles as a massive money-laundering scheme orchestrated by deep-state interests. It's no secret that Blackrock is the largest share holder in the MIC companies and that this was all a war profiteering and country pillaging mission by the MIC and the CIA under the Biden administration. From billions in untracked military aid shipments, half of which is missing and alleged to have been sold on the black market to drug cartels, to Blackrock comfortably in place of the reconstruction of Ukraine, to questionable humanitarian programs with little transparency, and now the bigger prize, those expensive Ukrainian minerals, the allegations run deep. You have permission to vomit or weep if needed. Ukraine has long been labeled the most corrupt nation in Europe, and some say the war provides cover for funneling huge sums of unaccountable funds through intermediaries.
Victoria Nuland is at the center of these allegations, going back to her role in the 2014 Maidan protests. Critics argue that the U.S. State Department, under Nuland’s direction, played an outsized role in Ukrainian politics—facilitating regime change, shaping the government to American geopolitical interests, and even allegedly creating a “state church” loyal to pro-Western ideologies, thereby sowing further division within Ukraine’s Orthodox community.
From this perspective, Zelensky does not stand alone. He is cast as a mere “paid puppet of the deep state”, fulfilling the mission started by Nuland and others years ago. The outflow of Western arms and cash only strengthens these speculations, as enormous amounts of money vanish into an opaque system where few checks or balances seem to exist.
5. Toward Accountability: President Trump’s Role
Given these serious allegations, it falls upon bold leaders to call for transparency and end the complicity in any potential abuses. President Trump, for his part, has made clear that he views Zelensky’s behavior—jailing political rivals, banning religious denominations, and operating as a de facto dictator—as unacceptable.
Why does Trump’s outspokenness matter? Because any substantial shift in U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine must begin with an acknowledgment that Zelensky’s government is far from squeaky-clean. Once that acknowledgment is made, it becomes politically and morally imperative to attach conditions to American support, including stringent safeguards for religious freedom and human rights, as well as real efforts to combat corruption.
Some even say that criminal charges for war crimes should be considered if proven beyond doubt that Zelensky directed violent repression against civilians, clergy, and parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. If the international community can indict perpetrators from other conflicts, then Ukraine’s leadership—no matter how sympathetic its cause—should not be exempt from accountability.
6. Reclaiming America’s Moral Compass
Zelensky’s alleged acts of oppression are not merely domestic Ukrainian issues; they speak to universal principles that the United States once championed. From the ban on free press outlets to arrests of dissidents and religious figures, Zelensky’s government demonstrates the very authoritarian tendencies America has always denounced. Turning a blind eye for the sake of geopolitical advantage or due to potential blackmail compromises our national integrity.
It falls on leaders, and indeed citizens, to remember that upholding basic freedoms is not a dispensable luxury but rather the cornerstone of stable governance. By @realDonaldTrump calling out these abuses and labeling Zelensky’s presidency a dictatorship, he takes a step in the right direction. To fully succeed, though, this must become a bipartisan, public conversation that demands genuine reform in Ukraine before more American resources flow into an unaccountable environment.
In practical terms, ending this “reign of terror,” as critics describe it, could involve:
Immediate Suspension of Blank Checks
Halt unconditional aid until there is verifiable evidence that Ukraine respects religious liberties, halts the banning of churches, and stops prosecuting priests on spurious charges.
Independent Investigation
Call for an international, transparent investigation into allegations of corruption, blackmail, and human rights abuses. If Zelensky’s officials are found culpable, they must face consequences—be that sanctions, travel bans, or war crimes prosecutions.
Diplomatic Pressure
The United States and other Western governments can threaten to withhold economic or military assistance if Kiev continues to target religious communities.
Public Awareness
Demand media outlets provide balanced coverage, showing that while Ukraine has a right to defend itself against foreign aggression, it must not trample fundamental human rights in the process.
Conclusion
President Zelensky’s administration is widely portrayed in mainstream Western media as a heroic force standing on the frontline of democracy. However, emerging testimony from voices such as attorney Bob Amsterdam, along with other independent reports, paints a very different—and very disturbing—picture of a government persecuting its largest Christian denomination, jailing opposition, and leaning on secret police to maintain power.
President Trump’s willingness to call Zelensky a “dictator” echoes the alarm raised by human rights advocates who see a dangerous moral double standard at work. When the White House—particularly under Joe Biden—opens the checkbook with seemingly no limit, it raises uncomfortable questions about whether Zelensky holds political leverage over U.S. officials. The specter of the Burisma scandal and possible hidden threats underscore the need for serious scrutiny.
Moreover, the Ukraine conflict itself has been labeled by some as one of the largest money-laundering operations in modern history, rooted in deep-state manipulations that began in 2014 with Victoria Nuland’s involvement. Far from being mere conspiracy, the alignment of special interests, corruption, and tens of billions in untracked funds demands a better explanation than the stale narratives offered by official channels.
If America still believes in genuine freedom of religion and accountability, then it must demand an end to Zelensky’s alleged reign of terror against Christians. Imposing transparency on financial aid is equally crucial, as is a thorough investigation of corruption allegations. Only by confronting the uncomfortable truths of this conflict can the United States reclaim its moral standing, and only then can President Trump—or any American leader—credibly say they are defending freedom abroad.
